PostHeaderIcon Little Boy Blue Square Cut Swim Review

Little Boy Blue, a hot swimwear brand  gets high marks from me! My friends over at Bodyjock Co, sent me a pair of the Todd square cut swim shorts by Little Boy Blue.  I have not seen this brand anywhere else except at Bodyjock Co. and boy am I glad I did.
I really like the look of a square cut - the perfect blend between the board short and the "Speedo."  The Todd square cut was very flattering on.  The fabric (nylon lycra) is incredibly light weight, stretchy, and a smidge revealing ( I tried white) with out being x-rated.  The cut of the brief and the fabric combined accentuates your physique quite well.  The curves of your manhood are well noticed and the stretch wraps around your rear quite nicely.  The fit of the square cut sits comfortably low on your waist and the waistband doesn't have any elastic.  I wore these in the hot tub and didn't have to worry about them accidentally falling down.  I'd have no problem wearing these at the beach or pool so long as I wasn't diving in to the water.
Really, a very flattering comfortable square cut swim suit.  I would highly recommend this suit to my friends and have added to my favorite's list.

PostHeaderIcon Monday's Valentine Idea

Looking for a Valentine's day idea?  How about the 3G Niagara Robe?  This luxurious jacquard robe is made from 80% organic cotton and 20% polyester.  When you wear this robe, you'll feel as though you came right from the spa.  I really liked the lined hood and that 3G used the same material to flow down the front of the robe. There's a handy pocket on the left-hand side.  Every man deserves a luxurious robe - time to get rid of the plaid flannel and put on something luxurious and sexy.
This would make a fabulous Valentine's Day present for yourself or your man.

Take a hot shower, put on something hot and envelope your body in this luxury robe.  Check out my Valentin'e Guide for something to wear underneath!  Perhaps the 3G Vintage Collection??

PostHeaderIcon I Love Bacon!

Ginch Gonch has a fantastic new line called I Love.  The collection brings together all the things Ginch Gonch loves including (and new ones coming out over the next 5 months) I Love:  Bacon, London, Boys, Girls, Tokyo, and Burgers.

Out on the market right now are (in boy's and girl's styles):
  • I Love Boys ... kiss my abs
  • I Love Boys ... biceptual
  • I Love Girls ... doubleheader
  • I Love Girls ... switch hitter

I've had the pleasure of trying out I LOVE BACON which isn't even released yet.  The fit and fabric will be the same so you'll be happy buying the I Love Boys/Girls for this Valentine's Day!

On to the review ... I tried the I Love Bacon Boxer Brief, and I must say,"I Love them!"  The boxer briefs are very similar to the briefs I reviewed earlier.  The boxer briefs feature the same comfortable anti-muffin top waistband (which looks like a strip of bacon surrounding you) and their 4-way stretch cotton/lycra blend fabric.  The fabric has a comfortable cotton feel with a bit of give to support you and not stretch out after a day's wear (due to the 5% lycra blend).  The waistband was very comfortable, as were the leg bands.  I like the boxer brief in that it gives you full rear coverage for a comfortable fit.  The legs were snug enough to stay were they should and didn't ride up during the day.  All around, these Ginch Gonch are comfortable and fun and would recommend to my friends.  You're never too old to have fun in your underwear!
I featured Ginch Gonch I Love Boys/Girls in my Valentine Day Shopping Guide.

PostHeaderIcon Hom's First Cotton Micro Brief Review - Classic Style and Comfort

Hom's First Cotton Micro Brief is a sexy classic micro brief. I was a tad concerned when I first looked at how micro these things were.  To my delight, I found the micro brief to be extremely comfortable.  The front pouch is a perfect size for comfortably holding your assets and, yippee, there is a full seat in the rear.   I really liked how these sat comfortably low on my waist.  The waistband is small but is has a folded edge which creates the comfort.

The look of the brief is more of a classic micro brief look - available in black or white - which would make sense since they're from Hom's Business range.  I tried the black, which I prefer over the white from a sexiness standpoint.  As far as the fabric is concerned, the 94% cotton/6% elastane is very soft and comfortable with just enough give to keep you supported buy not restricted.  I would recommend the Hom First Cotton Micro Brief for a night out or for daily wear.

You can find these at Dead Good Undies.

PostHeaderIcon Andrew Christian Flashback "Bubble Butt" Brief Review

Andrew Christian's "Bubble Butt" Brief gets mixed reviews from me and am having a difficult time scoring these. The flashback brief, if you're not familiar with it, basically takes a regular brief and stitches in straps in the seat - like having jockstraps in your underwear.

When I first tried them on, I really liked them.  I liked how the Flashback straps lifted my cheeks and enhanced my rear view.  The problem is that because the strips are trying to lift your cheeks it's also pulling down the waistband (gravity).  So, after a bit I felt like my undies were falling down and had the sensation that I needed to pull up my underwear.  Other than that, that is my only complaint.  In general, I like Andrew Christian products (see my other review).

On the positive side, the fabric (90% cotton/ 10% spandex) was really nice and you could tell it was of good quality.  I also enjoyed the front pouch which supported me well.  It's also quite evident that the overall quality of craftsmanship is quite good - especially with their ant-muffin top elastic.  I like that the Flashback brief doesn't use any padding to enhance the rear (how embarrassing if others knew).  I know that the Flashback brief is a pretty good seller for Andrew Christian so others may have a different view on the brief or are willing to put up with the sensation.  I think after time, you'd get used to it.  I know I had this feeling when I first started wearing low-rise (not used to the sensation of sitting so low).  So, with that, I think the benefits outlined above and hoping that the sensation is something you'd get used to, I would recommend these - if for no other reason than to give you a better back side.

A good place to buy these is at BodyJock Co. where they're having a sale on Andrew Christian.

PostHeaderIcon It's Time To Man Up!

I'll try not to do this too often, but I need to get up on my soap box...

If you've read my profile, you know I'm straight, married and have two beautiful daughters.  So, my comments on this topic come to you with this perspective.

I was reading Sean Ashby's blog (Aussiebum founder) recently about who the target audience is for Aussiebum - gay, straight, etc...  I think Sean Ashby is dead-on when he writes, "At aussieBum we combine masculinity and sexiness, and as we say 'if you doubt yourself, wear something else.' "  I think too many men are afraid to express their masculinity and don't feel confident dressing and looking sexy for whomever their partner is or for whatever their sexual orientation is.  I think my gay and bi friends have gotten over this lack of self-confidence so I write this mainly to my fellow straight guys - really, it's ok to wear sexy underwear and still be straight!  And for the ladies reading this, buy your man something sexy - he'll thank you later! I know I actually feel more confident and frisky when I know I'm wearing something fun down below.

Now, if you're not ready to go out and try a mesh g-string, start out with something mild.  Go for a colored brief or some funky boxer-briefs.  Get comfortable with your masculinity by expressing yourself as a sexual being.  Ladies - maybe it's time to buy your man a pair to get him going - be sure to compliment often.

The human form is a beautiful thing and should be seen as such.  When ladies comment on a beautiful woman it doesn't make her a lesbian.  When a guy sees another guy in the gym or a sharp-dressed guy on the street it's ok to think they're attractive or good looking (and I know you do - we all do but just don't verbalize it) - it doesn't make you gay - it makes you a person who appreciates the aesthetics of the human form, regardless of the gender.  If a gay man looks at a beautiful woman, he doesn't turn straight.  You are who you are and appreciating the human form is just that - appreciating the art in all of us.

This Valentine's Day, I say DON'T doubt yourself and wear something else; instead, celebrate your masculinity and wear something bold, daring and sexy!

I'll start you off with a couple of ideas to get you going in the shallow end before you take off for the diving board ...

PostHeaderIcon Core-Point Hibiscus Trunk Review - You're going to like these!

The Core-Point Hibiscus Trunk is another winner in my reviews this week. Core-Point states they have been, "... committed to create premium quality products with innovative and unexpected style with a passion for street structure." I would say they've met their goal.

The pair of Hibiscus trunks (boxer briefs) I tried on were really very comfortable all day long.  The Core-Point Hibiscus Trunk is made from 80% polyester/20% elastane.  The blend of materials creates a silky feel and body-conforming stretch.  When I say stretch, I don't want to imply tight, because it's not.  By stretch, I mean that the material wraps the contours of your body to support you without the look of "extra" bulk material.

The cut of the Hibiscus Trunk is such that it creates a comfortable front pouch.  The legs on the trunk are average in length.  The length is nice for multiple seasonal wear - not too long that you're too hot and not too short that you have a brief style.  What I appreciated about the trunk is that the legs stayed in place and didn't ride up.  This, in part, is due to the elastane in the fabric along with the cut of the trunk.  For the rear, I was pleasantly surprise to find NO seams to irritate you throughout the day.
I must say, these are one of those pairs of trunks you wear without being reminded your wearing underwear - no readjustments, no squashing, no itchy seams in the wrong spots.  Comfort and style is what I look for and that's exactly what I found.  As a nice add-on, their designs also comes in a women's line.

For an added bonus, Core-Point is a member of 1% For The Planet where 1% of profits go to environmental non-profit groups.

If you're reading this review and want to get a pair, your luck just improved.  For a limited time, Core-Point is offering a 30% discount to Menswear Review readers.  Simple enter promo code: MWR at checkout.
