There's a Buzz in the Air - Have You Heard?
There's a buzz in the air about a new upcoming brand of men's underwear. According to the Urban Dictionary, their name means “Lucky or Very Fortunate.” (It also means ass or anus, but I don't think they're going for that.) :-)
The new brand is positioning themselves
as a men's underwear brand built on culture, personality and
imagination. Who are are they? Jacksy! Jacksy's mission as a
company is “To offer simple, innovative and sexy products for the
modern man in line with current trends, relevant themes and at a
competitive price?"
I don't know about you, but I'm
intrigued. They've got a cool, fun marketing campaign going and will
be launching their product line very soon. I'm excited to be able to
review this new line for you. Look for a review before the new year!

RIPT FUSION Slimming Undershirt
RibbedTee RIPT Fusion (pronounced “Rip Tee”) does the job of helping the post-holiday weight gain.
The RIPT FUSION is a body-sculpting (or slimming) undershirt. It claims to support your core, shave inches off your midsection, and enhance your posture. I would agree that the shirt is slimming, but I don't know that I'd go as far to say that it helped my posture or supported my core. As a slimming shirt it did a great job.
The shirt is paneled and made out of 3 different materials – Top: 100% Cotton, Body Panel: 79% Polyester, 21% Spandex. Wearing it all day, I did find it comfortable and it did stay tucked. The slimming feature was nice when wearing a fitted shirt and lowrise pants (still recovering from Thanksgiving).
At $58 it is a bit pricey, but not as much as the $99 Equmen. Depending on what you want in the shirt, you should be happy with the RIPT Fusion. If you just need the slimming effect, you can get away with the RIPT. If you also need the core support and back support, you may want to consider spending the extra money for the Equmen or the Sculptee at $78.

RibbedTee Classic Undershirt Performs as Promised
The RibbedTee Classic Undershirt performs as promised. As someone who wears an undershirt 5 days a week under my shirt and tie, comfort in an undershirt is paramount. Often, I have had problems with the undershirts untucking throughout the day – causing me to go to the restroom and tuck it back in throughout the day. I also don't like how traditional undershirts add bulk. With the RibbedTee Classic, I'm happy to report that I didn't have any problems with the shirt untucking itself and bunching up. In addition, I found the material to be of a reasonable thickness.
The shirt, made of 100% cotton, reminds me of a typical ribbed tank-top, but with sleeves. The length of the shirt is quite long, but this adds to its ability to stay tucked in. I was fearful I'd feel the hem of the shirt throughout the day, but had no problems. The shirt does lose some of it's tightness throughout the day, but didn't cause me any problems. After a washing, the shirt tightened right back up. Because the undershirt is similar to the typical ribbed tank top, the neckline wasn't as high as I typically like.
When I think about my Jockey Go Stretch undershirt and compare it to the RibbedTee - hands down, I'd buy the RibbedTee --- AND for LESS money!!

At about $10 each, the shirt is a great buy for accomplishing the goal of finding an undershirt that stays tucked all day.

PPU Thong - great for the price conscience buyer
The PPU thong is not what I had hoped it would be, but good for the price. I generally like thongs and g-strings if there isn't too much fabric between my cheeks. When I first looked at the PPU, I thought the rear would be the problem and not the front. The opposite is my situation.The PPu Verde thong is made from a 93% Polyester/7% Spandex blend. The material itself I liked. It was reasonably soft and had some stretch to it. I found the thong part to feel comfortable throughout the day and offered a great look from the rear. The pouch, for me, was a bit too small. I tried a medium but probably could have taken a large.
I found the styles and designs of PPU to offer a lot of fun and exciting designs and cuts. The PPU line is also very reasonably priced. The thong I tried generally sells in the $10-$15 range. At this price, you can afford to buy a couple different ones and have some fun. My only recommendation would be to try a size up - especially if you're on the border of sizes.

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all of my avid readers. I now have readers from 30 different countries coming from all 6 populated continents!
I started this blog to share my thoughts on various menswear products in hopes it could help other guys find the best underwear, undershirts, swimwear, loungewear and athletic wear. I truly hope you've found my posts helpful.
After the first of the year, I'd like to expand my reviews to include men's dress shirts and jeans. Why you may ask? for dress shirts, I find that I need to buy fitted dress shirts. I have a 16.5" neck and 34/35 arms. A typical dress shirt is like wearing a blouse - fake love handles I don't have. I've found that I need to buy fitted dress shirts and have a hard time finding quality ones. For jeans, I've found that fit and price don't always match and on a pursuit to find jeans that are worth the money I'm paying for them.
So, if you know some fitted dress shirt brands or jeans that are worth the money you pay for them, please share them with me.

Undershirt Reviews - Day 3
Today is day 3 for reviewing undershirts from RibbedTee, Equmen, Sculptees, and Tommy John. Yesterday I had the pleasure of trying the Equmen Core Precision undershirt and boxer brief - I really, really liked both. I will post a full review after all 4 have been reviewed.
Today, I'm trying the RipT by RibbedTee. This is their compression undershirt. So far, it works as advertised. More on this after the week's over.

Want Spicy Underwear? Pikante Underwear Review
I had the please of reviewing the Pikante Cotty Classic Brief this week. When I first received them in the mail, I was quite pleased with the design and cut of the brief. Pikante is known for it's fun designs and cuts - their tag line of Spicy Underwear is accurate! 
The Pikante Cotty Classic Brief scores well in all areas. Aside from being stylish, the brief was very comfortable to wear all day long. I didn't have any issues with the rear coverage (and riding up) and the pouch kept things in place nicely. I found the fabric (made from 61% polyester/33% cotton/6% spandex) to be reasonably soft (after an initial washing). The Pikante Cotty Classic Brief is definitely a pair that I'd purchase, would probably buy more than one due to the fun variety of colors and patterns.Overall Rating: 4.5/5

Clever Lightning Brief - Review
The Clever Lightning Brief gets an average score from me. The brief, and really the entire line of Clever Moda, are very stylish. Clever Moda offers a large variety of styles and patterns to suit just about anyone's taste. For the lightening line, they are available in brief or boxer-brief with a color choice of orange or black/white. It would be easy for me to select just about anyone of their designs and patterns.
Where the lightening brief falls short is in comfort. The brief is made out of 91% cotton and 9% elastane. This does create a reasonably soft material with some give to it. Keeping in mind that everyone has a different body shape, and I don't have much of a rear end, I did find the rear coverage lacking. Several times throughout the day I had to pull them back out to where they belong. I'd buy them because of the variety of styles and how they look on but would do so knowing I wouldn't want to wear them on a long day.

Piado Boxer Brief -- a must have!
Introducing the Piado Boxer Brief ...
This week, I've had the pleasure of trying out Piado's boxer brief. The boxer brief is an interesting pair of underwear – not quite a boxer and not quite a brief. At first, I wasn't sure I was going to like them. Pulling them out of the attractive packaging, the soft bamboo fabric immediately caught my attention. I have some biases, and bamboo is one of them – love the fabric for all of it's wonderful qualities. Bamboo is natural, soft, wicks really well, and doesn't leave an odor after a day's workout.
After trying them on, I knew I was going to love them. In addition to the super soft fabric, the design of the boxer brief and the fun orange color impressed me. I categorize these as a fun pair of underwear – sort of like the '70's VW Minibus – different but cool because of it.
The waist band and leg bands are also soft and comfortable. The stitching of the panels is well done and creates a nice holding for your boys. After wearing them for a long day I must say I was very comfortable all day long. I generally like boxer briefs but sometimes have to keep pulling the legs back down. With the Piado boxer brief, they solved this problem. The boxer brief is just long enough and just short enough – the perfect middle. I also really liked the full-coverage of the rear end – no riding up. Other reviewers mention the fabric stretching out during the day. I didn't notice this at all and I had them on for roughly 17 hours. They were comfortable the entire time.
Another aspect of Piado that I like is the concept behind their product. I am most impressed with their commitment to the environment. Piado is noted for it's distinct fabrics, modern & sophisticated design and eco-friendly products. All of their products are packaged in recycled paper. They use fabrics with better qualities/properties than most of those used in mainstream fashion, materials with a longer life span, that have a lesser impact on the environment from inception on. A note on the bamboo fabric is that it's exceptionally sustainable. It is the fastest growing plant on earth. It helps reduce the carbon dioxide gases that contribute to global warming and does not require the use of pesticides for its growth.
Piado is committed to using recycled products in the office environment: recycled paper for correspondence, no plastic table wear, energy saving appliances... Piado states that, for the most part, they are a paper free office – Piado's transactions are paperless (email communications, electronic receipts, etc). They do not even own a fax machine.
To summarize, Piado boxer briefs are super-comfortable, stylish, fun, and well constructed. And, as a bonus, they are an eco-friendly company. I haven't reviewed Piado's brief but if they are anything like their boxer brief I'm sure they're great.
