Bonobos Board Short

***********************************************************
I was fortunate enough to receive a sneak peek at the soon to be released Bonobos Board Short. Bonobos has released the board shorts to their Pro Members and would expect them to be released to the general public very soon.
The collection is a rather conservative board short look, featuring solid colors. The board shorts, while conservative, do come in a variety of colors, including: Navy, Red, Turquoise, Green and Green Paisley.
MATERIAL
The board shorts are made from a quality 100% polyester fabric. The blend allows for quick drying and retention of shape. The board shorts are fully lined to minimize irritation from seams (not a brief style liner).
Bonobos is the only brand that used a zipper for the front fly - I'm sure to avoid the problems with getting caught in the velcro...just be careful getting caught in the zipper. There is a wide piece of fabric that does cover the zipper from the inside to avoid getting caught.
POCKETS
The Bonobos Board Short features two front pockets (mesh) and a snap rear pocket. While I wouldn't leave my room key in my front pocket, you could leave it in the back pocket securely snapped in.
FIT
The fit was true to size. An added benefit of the Bonobos Board Short is that it has straight fabric in the front (typical boardie look) but has an elastic band in the back to allow for subtle corrections in size. So, you get the look of a board short, but the adjustment of traditional swim shorts.
The length of the board short comes to a bit above the knee - 9" inseam.
See who else made the Menswear Review Top 10 Swim Shorts List!

HOM Fil d' Ecosse Socks - A Mens Clothing Review
For all of the men's clothing reviews I've done, this will be the first pair of socks. If you've followed my blog for a bit, you likely know that I typically wear a business suit and work long hours.
Key items of my wardrobe, beyond the suit, are finding comfortable underwear, undershirts that stay tucked, fitted dress shirts, and socks that don't fall down or make my feet sweat. For socks, I often wear CK, GoldToe, Tommy, and a few others. While I've reviewed other HOM products, this pair of HOM socks are the first I've tried from HOM and were sent to me by my friends at Dead Good Undies.
The HOM Fil d'Ecosse are unlike any socks I own. The socks are incredibly smooth with a bit of a sheen to them and are just a tad sheer. Made from a blend of 94% Cotton and 6% Elastane, the socks were comfortable and stayed up (I hate having to repeatedly pull my socks up). I found the socks to fit my feet well and were breathable (didn't make my feet stink). The socks come in a one-size style that are to fit feet that are a UK 6-10 or EU 40-45. I wear a size 11-1.5 US (depending on the shoe) and found these to fit my feet well.
The HOM Fil d'Ecosse are availabe in Black (the color I tried) or Navy and just above the ankle there is a small grey HOM logo. I can easily recommend these HOM dress socks to you and are now one of my favorite pairs of socks. The socks are £9.36 (aprx US $13.93) for one pair or £23.83 (aprx US $35.47) for a 3-pack. While they are a bit more expensive than a standard pair of socks, these are certainly a quality dress sock and are a value for the price paid. Check out Dead Good Undies for more colors and styles - including the unique Asymmetrical pair from HOM.

Groovin' Underwear
Goovin', a relative newcomer to men's underwear, is a Japanese owned company specializing in men's underwear. I recently stumbled across this brand and wanted to find out more about them and their product ranges. You'll see some reviews on Goovin' coming up in the next few weeks.
Goovin' looks to accentuate the male form through fun, vibrant styles. In looking through their website, www.groovin.sg, they have some styles and colors that should get you noticed! One of the reasons I may not of heard of Goovin' before is that retail locations are found in Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, and not the states. They are, though, available online through Amazon's online store and are looking for local or regional partnerships. Perhaps we'll see them soon.
I'm really looking forward to the reviews on Goovin' - stay tuned!
