PostHeaderIcon PACT Underwear Review - Fashion, Eco-Friendly and Comfort Meet!

PACT Underwear,
a brand which launched in August, 2009, is making a name for itself as an eco-friendly underwear company.  For PACT, being eco-friendly is not just a saying, they live it.  Aside from being made from organic cotton, PACT ships its products in a compostable envelope and every pair is inspired by a social or environment cause with 10% of the sale going to their non-profit partners.  So, before even trying a pair on, I've been impressed and hopeful they'd be as good as their company is eco-friendly.  To my delight, they are.

I had the pleasure of trying out their Oceana Trunk.  Right out of the cloth packaging, it's evident the fabric is pleasantly soft and quite stylish in their 95% organic cotton/5% elastane blend.  The fabric, as I said, is quite soft and the elastane gives it just enough stretch and memory to make these trunks extremely comfortable.  Sometimes 100% cotton underwear stretches during the day and doesn't bounce back to form.  With the added 5% elastane, you enjoy the comfort of the cotton without having them stretch out during the day.

As for the cut, the pouch was rather comfortable and held things in place nicely without being binding.  The seat, being a trunk, was full coverage.  There was a seem between the cheeks which added to a flattering look in the rear.  It's important to know that the rear seem didn't bother me at all - couldn't even tell it was there - which is sometimes a problem with rear seams.  I liked how the stitching on the sides is strategically placed to hold where it needs to while providing comfort.  The legs on the trunk stayed where they should and didn't ride up at all - something which often happens with traditional boxer briefs.
While I tried the PACT Oceana Trunk, they also come in a traditional brief, boxer brief, and boxer in a plethora of patterns/causes.  AND, all of the patterns come in a matching women's boy short, bikini or thong.

I really must say that these are truly one of my favorites for comfort and style.  The added bonus of these being incredibly eco-friendly make buying these a no brainer.  Really, you need to check these out.

PostHeaderIcon The Right Combination of Tie and Pocket Square

Wearing a suit is something relatively simple but the way you choose the tie and the pocket square is an art.

If you haven’t yet decided to go this far as to accessorize a suit, I will attempt to convince you otherwise.

Let’s start with the fact that most of us can’t afford many suits. Sure, it would be nice to have one for each occasion but a suit is a BIG investment. For this reason we prefer suits that go well for each occasion.

Under these harsh conditions, how can we express ourselves?
Accessorize: enter the world of ties and pocket squares.

Now I know what you’re thinking: you’re already wearing a tie. But have you ever considered a pocket square? And do you know how to match them?

PostHeaderIcon Candid Lowrise Boxer Brief Review

The Candid Lowrise Boxer Brief is a must have for any man's underwear drawer.  A young company (April 2009), Candid creates a boxer brief and a lowrise brief in 3 different patterns (Houndstooth, Plaid, and Chromatic) in a myriad of colors.  First off, I really like the color and pattern combos available through Candid - classic with a contemporary twist.
The cut of the boxer brief is very comfortable.  I like that the legs of the boxer brief are short than a typical boxer.  This helps greatly in avoiding the riding up of the legs during the day that a typical boxer brief has.  The shorter legs also create a great look while providing full coverage.  I found the contoured pouch to be very comfortable.  The pouch held me well without being too snug or too loose.  From the rear, there is a full seat which also adds to the comfort factor.
The Candid Boxer Brief is made from 95% cotton/ 5% spandex.  This blend of fabric creates a soft cotton feel with the added flex of the touch of spandex.  I really think this is what helped the brief feel so comfortable.  100% doesn't have any give and doesn't bounce back and too much spandex, is, well, too much!
All in all, I'd highly recommend the Candid Lowrise Boxer Brief to any man - it's on my favorite's list.  I'll be writing a review soon on their brief - sneak peak, they're great too!  All three of their pattens come in a pink combo - a great Valentine's Day idea!

PostHeaderIcon Male Power Satin Lycra Jock Review

The Male Power Satin Lycra Jock would make a nice addition to your Valentine's Day collection. The Male Power jock from their satin collection is quite sexy with a soft stretch nylon fabric.  The stretchy nature of the nylon helps to create a close, yet comfortable, fit.  The leg straps were comfortable, as was the waistband.  I tend to like jock straps for athletics and summer days.  I would categorize the Male Power Satin Lycra Jock as more of a fashion jock than an athletic jock - though it can serve that purpose for lighter athletic activities.

Male Power is available at the following stores:

PostHeaderIcon Small Brands Going Big...

MENSWEAR PIONEERS BRIAN EDGAR AND JASON SUTHERLAND TACKLE MEN’S UNDERWEAR WITH BEYOND BIG BRANDING

New York, NY:   Two pioneers in men’s
fashion ─ former Tommy Hilfiger executive Brian Edgar and Ginch Gonch Underwear founder Jason Sutherland ─ announced today they have joined forces in an innovative new company that will address the under-served metro-sexual male consumer group.  Beyond Big Branding will develop proprietary brands and partner with existing brands trading in international markets and launch them globally.  Mr. Edgar will serve as President and CEO of the new company. Mr. Sutherland takes on the role of Creative Director and Brand EVP.

“Building and maintaining a single brand requires as much time and effort as developing a host of brands,” explained Mr. Edgar, formerly executive vice president at Tommy Hilfiger Retail Canada Inc., at this morning’s announcement.   “Beyond Big Branding will unite similar-minded active wear companies and co-brand them with one another.

“The advantages in multi-branding include cost savings, systems integration, preferential pricing on manufacturing, and greater exposure,” he added.

At Tommy Hilfiger, Mr. Edgar helped spearhead the company’s expansion across Canada to over sixty retail locations.  In his seven years, he helped increase company revenue by over ten times the original sales figures.

“Synergy is key for us,” said Mr. Sutherland.   Mr. Sutherland is widely heralded as the designer who, with his Ginch Gonch line, helped to inject fun — or, as he calls it, cheekiness — into the men’s undergarment industry. “Our brands share services across the board: from design, to accounting, collections, customers, sales, support staff, web design, IT support, printing, photo-shoots, public relations, and even online media.”

“Beyond Big Branding offers advantages to buyers as well”, he continued.  “We aim to be a one-stop shop, providing products of the highest quality with brands that cover virtually all price points, from mass market to exclusive boutique.”

The first proprietary brand being introduced is Piss & Vinegar, an underwear and swimwear company created by Mr. Sutherland.  It launched in the last quarter of 2009 and enjoyed tremendous holiday hype in domestic and international media with its controversial Jesus brief. Piss & Vinegar designs remind men—or rather, challenge them— to grab life and live it with heart.  The gear is targeted toward the high end consumer.

The two international brands that Beyond Big Branding has licensed to springboard into the global marketplace are Dick & Jane and Expose.

Founded in Russia and now headquartered in Vienna, Dick & Jane is a bold brand, popular with urban youth. In 2008, the company opened 78 new accounts, primarily in Eastern Europe. The company is now poised to rapidly expand into Western European and beyond.

With its flagship store in Columbia, Expose is a sporty and sexy brand, suitable for mid-tier and boutique stores as well as online channels. The company will add two retail locations this calendar year and aims to break into the US marketplace.

Beyond Big Branding has a five year licensing deal with both Dick & Jane and Expose that gives the company access to all international markets and every sales channel including direct, online, wholesale, licensing and brick and mortar.

“The men’s underwear and loungewear market is still in its early stages of development,” said Mr. Edgar.  “Beyond Big Branding aims to take the industry to the next level by buying, licensing, and partnering with exciting brands and manufacturers throughout the world.

“We are aggressively seeking additional partnerships with brands and investors,” he adds.  “Through synergy, our Beyond Big Branding companies are finally able to compete against the big boys.”

PostHeaderIcon Magic Silk Knit Lounge Pants - you have to check these out!

Magic Silk Lounge Pants were fantastic!  I own several different brands of lounge pants (live in the  midwest US and need them in the winter) and I must say these are probably my favorite pair!  Magic Silk knit lounge pants are made from their awesome 100% silk.  It's important to distinguish between the two types of silk lounge pants.  There is the satin shiny style and there is the knit weave style.  The pair I reviewed (and prefer) is the knit weave stye.
The fabric is the first thing I noticed when I tried them on.  What I like about the silk knit is that it's incredibly comfortable and doesn't cause arousal like the shiny silk pants can sometimes do (I think the  guys know what I'm talking about).  The Magic Silk knit pants drape over your form and gently outline your assets (assuming you're not wearing anything underneath).  This, I've been told (wink), creates for a sexy look.

These would be fantastic for Valentine's Day and are on my favorite's list!

PostHeaderIcon Magic Silk Button Fly Boxer Brief Review

Magic Silk Boxer Brief with button fly is similar to the pair I reviewed earlier.  Magic Silk has a number of different styles all made from their fabulous 100% silk.  My review is on their boxer brief with a button fly.
I tried the boxer brief in red, but it also comes in blue or black.  The boxer brief was silky soft like the previous pair I tried.  In comparing the two styles, I liked the look of the button fly boxer brief better but thought the regular boxer brief was more comfortable.  On the button fly boxer brief, there is a seam in the rear that enhances the look but I felt the seem throughout the day.  I'd still recommend these because of the aesthetics for a night out (or in) but probably wouldn't wear them for a long work day.

PostHeaderIcon Male Power Bong Thong Review

The Male Power Bong Thong gets your attention with its unique red fabric.  Thong generally range quite a bit from style to comfort - with the two often times not aligning.  After trying and wearing the Male Power Bong Thong for a day I found it to be flattering and comfortable.  As you slide on the thong, your manhood falls right into place where it is cradled for comfort and support.  The patterned red fabric is made from 100% nylon which made is soft but what I really liked is that it wasn't just a flat red - it had some pop to it.  The cut of the thong is high on the hips to give optical length.  The thong part fit comfortably in the rear - not too big and not too small.

Overall, I was quite pleased with the Male Power Bong Thong and would recommend it.  Perhaps something to try for Valentine's Day??
