Underwear Under Boardshorts?

True boardshorts don't have the familiar mesh liner that some guys are used to; boardshorts with a mesh liner are wanna-be boardshorts. Guys moving to board shorts have asked since there isn't a liner do they go commando or wear underwear or something else under them? The short answer is, go commando!
Really, commando? Are you sure? YES! Guys that wear underwear or boxer shorts under boardshorts quite simply look like a goof. Boardshorts were originally developed for surfers with the quality of being fast drying. If you're wearing underwear under your boardshorts they're going to stay wet longer and not let the shorts properly dry. The result of wet underwear under a now dry boardshort looks like you've wet your pants!
While I'm at it, if you wear boxer shorts and let them hang out of your boardshorts, you look like an even bigger goof! It now looks like you've wet your pants and you're missing a belt.
If I don't wear underwear under my boardies, I won't have control over my manhood moving around. Typically boardshorts aren't so loose that things will flop around. If you're worried about unplanned, er, happiness that's a different problem. Chances are if you're over 16 you should have better control. And, if you can't control things, think of it as a conversation starter, a way to break the ice. Ok, ok, if you HAVE to wear something underneath, I would limit it to a swimmer's jock. Swimmer's jock are generally smaller than regular jocks and are made from quick drying material - often used under a swimmer's "speedo" to reduce bulge and drag for better speed. For you, it will allow things to stay under control and speed up drying time over underwear. The one pictured is an Activeman from Jockstrap Central for $8.95
How should they sit on my hips? Quite honestly, traditional boardshorts sit very low on your waist, just covering your butt. Boardshorts typically don't sit as high up as loose-fitting trunks do.

N2N Waistband Brief - A Men's Underwear Review
N2N's Waistband Brief (UN52) is very similar to the Waistband Bikini I reviewed yesterday. The primary difference between the two is really the amount of material on the hips.
Made from from the same quality Cotton (90%) / Spandex (10%) blend of the Bikini, I found the material cottony soft. The addition of the Spandex helps the briefs keep their form and mold to you. The simple, yet attractive, 1.5" waistband was comfortable, as were the leg bands. The waistband has the contrasting red detailing to give the brief a sporty, masculine look.The pouch was very comfortable and supportive for me. While the pouch is not an "enhancing" pouch, it certainly does show things off nicely - especially with the red detailing around the pouch. Your manhood does slide into a pouch that is both comfortable and supportive, as I said earlier. Some pouch styles are just for enhancement and lack support, this pouch really seems to be designed for comfort and support with enhancing be the side effect. And, as always, the N2N Waistband Brief features a full rear-end. The butt coverage was comfortable and didn't ride up once.
Overall, I love the new N2N Waistband Brief. I really have a hard time deciding if I like the bikini, brief, or boxer best - it really depends on my mood. So, if you'd like less material, go with the bikini or more material, go with the boxer or brief - either way, you can't go wrong with the Waistband Collection. I can easily recommend these to you and have and are now one of my favorites.
Reasonably priced at $19 (USD) you can't go wrong, they're a great buy!

Tribe Burn Out Brief - A Men's Underwear Review
Today's review on Tribe's Burn Out Brief is no exception to what I've historically found with Tribe. The Burn Out Brief that I tried is part of Tribe's Standard Brief Cut. The Burn Out fabric is also available in the Slim Side Cut for those that like a bit less material (more of a bikini fit than brief fit). The Standard Brief cut is different from what you may find in other brand's brief cut. I would tend to say that it is somewhere between bikini and lowrise brief (see pictures). The main difference is that the Standard is cut wider on the hip than the Slim Side.On comfort, I found the standard brief in the Burn Out fabric to be very comfortable. While it's a lowrise, there is adequate rear-end coverage and it sits high enough that you don't feel like they're falling down (sometime too much of a lowrise creates this feeling). For pouch comfort, it's adequate and comfortable. It's not a true pouch front but it's not a flat front either.
What I liked most about the Burn Out Brief is the fabric. Tribe really has some very unique fabrics that you don't find anywhere else. The Burn Out fabric is sheer with patterns of velvety material on top. The combination peeks the viewers interest with out giving away the whole picture. Let's just say they left my wife wanting to see more. :-) The fabric is very soft and has a luxury feel to it. Truly, very comfortable for all day, or all night.
Like most Tribe underwear, the Burn Out Brief has made my favorite's list and can easily recommend them to you. Priced at roughly $24 (USD) they are an excellent buy considering the comfort, quality, and unique material. N2N Waistband Bikini - A Men's Underwear Review
Made from a quality Cotton (90%) / Spandex (10%) blend, I found the material to be the traditional cottony soft. The addition of the Spandex adds the needed stretch and retention missing from 100% cotton. The combination of the two works very well together and is an appropriate mix.
Two things make the Waistband Collection a hit - the pouch and rear coverage. The pouch is contoured to provide support and comfort. Your package fits comfortably in the pouch and is accented with the contrasting color details. Between the two, you're noticed! I wouldn't say that the pouch is an "enhancement" pouch - like some that lift and push out. The pouch, while your boys hang out more, really seems to be designed for comfort and support. I found the pouch incredibly comfortable under a business suit, under jeans, and on the basketball court. Comfortable and supported, as you can tell, keep coming to mind. The second feature that makes the Waistband a hit, of course, is its full rear-end coverage. Time and time again I preach on the importance of full rear-end coverage. Seriously, for daily-wear underwear who cares how good it looks in front if you're pulling a wedgie out every 5 minutes. I can honestly say that every pair of N2N I've tried has full coverage for the rear. Gold star for N2N on this feature!
I find the Waistband Collection to be quite stylish. As I think of the black with red detailing or white with red detailing, they are a sporty, masculine look. The more conservative colors, give the bikini a classic, sporty, masculine look that should appeal to just about all guys. The red accents around the pouch are carried through the waistband and give it that something extra over just a solid color.Overall, I love the new N2N Waistband Bikini. I can confidently recommend these to you and have and are now one of my favorites. I think you'll be very pleased with these
